This is an early work of the beautiful panorama at the old stone factory in Erlecom. Across the river you can see the Waalbandijk of Doornenburg. Here, the river bends sharply towards Millingen and Germany.

Pentecost in the north of Friesland (Frysia). We stayed in a little home called “De Golle” on top of a mounted piece of land next to a beautiful monumental farm house and a century-old church in Jannum. Seated on a bench, I made the first sketch of this endless horizon.

In 2001, I participated in the project “Masterly copies” by the Utrecht Visual Arts Foundation (Stichting Beeldende Amateurkunst Utrecht). We were meant to copy an existing work of art. Seven museums across the Netherlands provided several pieces for us to work with. I chose an oil painting by Wim Oepts “1971 Landscape”, which is currently owned by the Polak Museum in Zutphen. I used textiles to come up with my copy. My work was selected for an exhibition in the Jan Cunen Museum in Oss, the Netherlands.
